Whimsical Paws Photography in partnership with Colonial Capital Humane Society is proud to announce the first annual Pets of Craven-Carteret 2025 Calendar Contest.
Proceeds from contest and calendar sales will assist Colonial Capital Humane Society in their mission to rescue and relieve the suffering of abused, abandoned, and stray animals; provide for their care until forever homes can be found; and create greater public awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering and humane treatment of animals.
We encourage you to submit your favorite photo of your pet and ask your family and friends to vote for them. Please review the Contest Rules carefully for submission guidelines; those that do not follow these rules will not be eligible to win. All fees for photo entries and votes will benefit Colonial Capital Humane Society and their rescue mission.
Contest Prizes
Grand Prize:
The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 13 entrants that receive the most votes throughout the contest
All 13 winners will receive a professional photography session by Whimsical Paws Photography to capture their photo that will appear in the 2025 calendar which will be available for purchase in the fall of 2024 (just in time for Christmas gifts!)*
The 1st place winner will be featured as the cover model!
2nd - 13th place winners will be featured as a pet of the month inside the calendar.
All winners will have the opportunity to purchase products and images following their session, if desired.
Weekly Mini-Contest Prizes:
One pet each week who receives the highest number of new votes for a particular week will win a mini contest prize from one of the participating businesses. In the event of a tie for that week's most votes or if there are no new votes for that week, a random computerized drawing will be held for all eligible pets.
Contest Rules
Entries:
Each entry is a $5.00 donation.
Limit of ONE pet per photo entry. People are not allowed in photos. The pet being entered must be the only one in the entry photo. Photos that do not follow these rules will not be eligible to win with no opportunity for a refund.
If you have multiple pets, they are all eligible to enter, but they must be entered individually.
All photos must be uploaded; we cannot accept printed photos. We cannot accept any copyrighted or professional photos.
The Submissions Period starts at 11:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Monday, April 1, 2024 and ends at 11:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Monday, May 6, 2024.
Contest entry fees are tax deductible. The email acknowledgment to your online donation serves as your tax receipt.
Any photograph that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene, as determined by Whimsical Paws Photography in its sole discretion, will be removed from the contest with no opportunity for a refund.
Posting more than one photo of your pet does not increase the chances of winning. The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 13 entries that receive the most votes. The same pet can only win once. Attempts to win two spots in the calendar by the same pet will not be permitted.
Voting:
Each $1.00 donation counts as one (1) vote.
All donations from voting are non-refundable. Entries and donations must be made via the online contest page. Contest payments online are through a secure site.
Contest votes are tax deductible. The email acknowledgment to your online donation serves as your tax receipt.
All winners will be determined by electronic vote tabulations under the supervision of GOGO PHOTO CONTEST whose decisions are final and binding. Whimsical Paws Photography & Colonial Capital Humane Society are not responsible for choosing the winners.
The Voting Period starts at 11:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Monday, April 1, 2024 and ends at 11:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Monday, May 6, 2024.
Calendar Photo Session:
The top 13 entrants with the most total votes will win a professional pet photography session by Whimsical Paws Photography at a pre-selected location in Craven or Carteret County on various dates as determined by the photographer during the summer of 2024.
If you are unable to commit to a photo session during those times or find yourself unable to travel to these pre-selected locations, you forfeit your winning and the entrant in 14th place will take your pet's spot in the calendar, no exceptions.
The top vote recipient will win the coveted cover photo for the 2025 calendar. The following 12 recipients with the most votes will be eligible to have their pet featured as a pet of the month inside the calendar.
The photographer, Whimsical Paws Photography, will choose the best image of each pet to be used in the calendar as well as which month that image will appear.
Weekly Mini-Contests:
The pet receiving the highest number of new votes each week within the 5-week contest will win a mini contest prize from one of the participating businesses.
Each pet may only win a weekly mini contest once.
In the event of a tie, a random computerized draw will be held between the highest vote getters of the week to determine that week's winner.
If there are no new votes for that week, a random computerized draw will be held for all eligible entrants.
Certain individual business restrictions and limitations may apply and may vary by business. Whimsical Paws Photography is not responsible for these restrictions and eligibility requirements as determined by each business.
The Fine Print:
By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.
Calendars will be available to the general public starting in October 2024.
By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Colonial Capital Humane Society and Whimsical Paws Photography and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers, and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
